Alexander Frederick CRESSWELL
d. 23 Jan 1967

The Fermanagh Times, January,1967

The death of Alexander Cresswell, of Market Street, Enniskillen, at an advanced age, removes the last of what was once a large family of the late William Cresswell. Several of them were in the postal service. The elder brother, Robert, was postmaster of Athlone and Strabane; Walter and Elizabeth (Mrs. Henderson), Willie (Bangor) and George (London), served for some time in the local office. David was in the Town Clerk's office before going like his brother Arthur and Mary, to South Africa. Mrs Henderson alone of the family survives near Rugby and is in her 90th year. Mrs. Cahir Healy was another sister.

Alec was fond of a joke and could always amuse his friends with a story, old or new. He spent over 25 years in the S.C.W.S. but retired on pension over 18 years ago.
